UKS2 – Children’s Mental Health Week – Forest School
Today marks the beginning of Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 and this year’s theme is ‘This Is My Place.’ Pupils in UKS2 have spent their Forest School sessions thinking about what this means to them at home, in the local community and at school and how belonging to a place, group or team impacts positively on mental health. During our sessions today, pupils have been able to help look after our Forest School place by litter picking, improving the space by planting ivy along the fence which will not only provide more shelter and screening but also valuable habitats for wildlife and enjoy our space by building dens and playing games. Inside the canopy classroom, children could maintain a fire and make pancakes before smothering them in a range of different toppings. No matter what they chose to do, the children were a great team and community and really embodied the essence of ‘This Is My Place.’ Well done everyone.
