UKS2 – Tools – Forest School

Today pupils built on their knowledge of tools and of how to use them safely to begin making woodland inspired items. Children could choose from bill hooks, whittling knives, loppers, secateurs, palm drills and bow saws in order to use them for specific purposes. Pupils had to find the right tool for the job and, if unsuccessful, unpick the problem and put in place a strategy to overcome it. After our next session in two weeks’ time, the children will be bringing home their creations which so far include dream catchers, hedgehogs, necklaces and a wizard’s staff!
