Year 3 – Class 4 – Investigating democratic voting
Today Class 4 discussed the meaning of the word ‘democracy’. We created our own polling station where children could register to vote and get their own polling number before casting their vote in one of several makeshift voting booths! There were official administrators on hand to answer any questions and ensure the ballet box was not tampered with, as well as a group of experts ready to count the votes and declare the results once the poll had closed. The question on the table today was what should happen to Julius Caesar regarding his massive increase in power and the winning solution was that he should not be harmed but have all of his power stripped back and given to other people.
