Year 4 – Maths

Today in Maths, some children in Year 4 explored possibility and how multiplication can help us to solve problems.

We investigated correspondence questions, using multilink cubes to help us figure out all the possible combinations that could be made if we took one at random from each group. We noticed that the number of combinations could be calculated by multiplying the amount in each group together. Then some of us used this knowledge to help us answer some correspondence questions, looking at the possible combinations, for example, for different sandwich fillings.
