Year 4 – National Hedgehog Day – Forest School
Year 4 have spent their afternoon at Forest School today celebrating the wonderful world of hedgehogs! It was National Hedgehog Day on Monday and its aim is to raise awareness of the now declining mammal; giving people the chance to learn more about them and how to look after them. Inside the canopy classroom, children could make hedgehogs using clay, sticks, tools, teasel seed heads and anything else they could find and were tasked to make them as life like as they could. Children could also role-play in our wooded area where children were transformed into hedgehogs and had to build themselves a nice cosy den using our sticks and tarps for their winter hibernation. We’ve had a great afternoon learning all about hedgehogs. If you want to find out more, please click on this link: https://www.hedgehogstreet.org/
